Artist Statement

My inspiration evolves naturally from my surroundings.  The beauty and discord found in the simplicity of every day life, people and events creates a palette from which I create my images. A single moment captured, frozen in time, stirs my innate creative process. "Art is the freedom to draw your own conclusions.”  I strive to draw the viewer into my vision engaging them in the decisive moment of the captured image.  My photographic eye is my looking glass into the world.

Mia Wisnoski is a contemporary international fine art photographer who divides her time between the East End of Long Island and traveling throughout the world capturing the images of her surroundings; always searching for that quintessential moment. Landscape photography is Mia's specialty.  She creates images using black & white and infrared film and digital imagery.  Hand painting some of her images has been a natural progression.  Her keen eye for color and strong sense of imagery make hand painting a perfect match for her photographic talents.  Developing her own unique style, Mia's hand painted images evoke a sense of nostalgia, serenity and carefree moments of days gone while her monochromatic images are thought provoking and exude mood, texture, with a strong trend toward realism.
